After participating in Olympic Developmental Soccer at 14 years old for the Cal-North State team, he and his family started the soccer program at Weed High School in 2005 and he graduated in 2007. Then, he briefly attended College of the Siskiyous in 2008. After a year at Siskiyous, he transferred to Shasta College to play soccer in 2009 and Simpson University in 2010 earning a B.S in Kinesiology. His coaching experience consists of assisting at Weed High School in 2019, Mt Shasta High School in 2022, 8 seasons Mt Shasta Youth Soccer Club, and 4 years at College of the Siskiyous. Aside from soccer, he is an avid mountain biker, runner, outdoor enthusiast, and book worm. Jake is the youngest of 6 children and a dog-dad to his 14-year-old black lab, Mellow.
