EAGLES WIN OPENING DOUBLE HEADER OVER THE KNIGHTS
College of the Siskiyous softball team won it's season-opener doubleheader over Shasta College on Saturday, winning the first game 10-2 in six innings and 6-1 in the second game.
In the opener, the Eagles started off strong with a RBI triple by Ashley Cox. In the sixth inning, Zoe Mendez ended the game with one swing, when she hit a four RBI home run. Jolene Rhoades (1-0) struck out ten batters, had an ERA of 0.00, and gave up only one hit for the Eagles. Jolene also had a great day as a hitter going 2 for 2, a triple, and 2 RBI's. Erika Allen finished the game 3 for 4 and had 2 RBI's and Chloe Dominger was 2 for 2 with 2 RBI's.
In the second game, Megan Dean (1-0) pitched a complete game and gave up only one run on six hits. Halliday Hubbard was 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored, Zoe Mendez was 2 for 3, Kaija Lovelady was 1 for 3 with an RBI, and Chloe Dominger was 1 for 3 with an RBI.
Siskiyous (2-0) Travels to Feather RIver College on Thursday for a doubleheader at noon and 2 p.m.
